Hi! This is my cousin and I selling mosquito nets to end malaria!
Malaria (MA- LARE-E-A) is a small blood parasite. Malaria is a disease that can very well kill someone in countries that don't have access to medical care for treatment. In fact, every 30 seconds, a child dies from malaria, which is very sad because it is a disease that can be prevented, and there is even medicine to treat it if someone gets it. It's carried by a mosquito. America used to have malaria, but then we found a cure and it stopped.
Compassion International has a program to bite malaria back!
they have found that hanging a simple mousqito net over beds can reduce malaria by 90%!!!! And the best news is that these nets only cost $10!!!!
When I learned about this, I was very sad for all those people. You can stop malaria too and be a super hero. If you were a kid like me reading this, you don't have to be a superhero to help the world. You can do normal things just to help the Earth. You can have a bake sale or even a garage sale and give the money to people in need. It's a great way for a kid to make a difference!
Here is Tucker and me with my sister, Luca. We would give one or two candies and a sticker to someone who would donate a net!
but our hard work paid off when we raised fifty nets, and we ended up with two more after!
The net project made me feel so happy because it made other peoples' lives better. What inspired me is my mom and dad who like to help people less fortunate then themselves! My mom says it's God who inspires her to love others this way because He does that for us.
Now I want you to look at this very cool video!
You might notice that I have a lot of exclamation points in this blog post. It's because I'm very excited. This is my very first blog post on my blog!!!!!!!!!
And that's the way I see it...
